Mystery Lover (Harlequin Intrigue #1213) - Lisa Childs Someone is targeting Tobias St. John’s businesses, robbing them and then blowing them up. Someone who, when she gets too close to the blast, saves reporter Jillian Drake’s life. The phantom, or monster, as the people call him, is huge, dark, dangerous… And wearing a leather mask to protect his identity. He’s determined to bring down St. John and protect Jillian in the process.A solid, nicely paced story, marred with the heroine’s jumping from one (wrong) conclusion to the next (Does she trust “Dante” or not? Sometimes yes, sometimes no, it’s all a game of chance.) and the fact the hero’s identity wasn’t as secret as the author wanted it to be. Boy, did I see that one coming.Still, a pretty good romantic suspense story with a few twists and turns to keep the reader interested.
