Book reviews à la bookworm...The good, the bad, and everything in between.

After centuries spent cooped up in Hell, Apollyon, the former angel of Death, destroyer of the world, angel of the apocalypse (blah blah blah) is finally free to leave on a mission. But it’s not his master who’s called him, but a mortal woman wanting to exact revenge on her cheating bastard of an ex.
This is the premise. Sounds good right? The story actually was good, up until the moment when the measly plot decided to take a permanent prolonged vacation and in came repetitive, poorly written, dull and boring "soft porn".
The heroine, who strangely had an English name despite her being French (and so did her ex), wanted to get back at her cheating ex by making him jealous. And not by making out with a hot guy, but just being seen with a hot guy at a club. Was she still in high-school or something?
And then, forgetting all her reservations about angels being off limits, she spends the rest of the story boning the angel she called to wreak puerile vengeance on her ex. Can you say rebound?
And after pages and pages of non-steamy, repetitive, bland, and sometimes text-book banging with no emotional connection whatsoever (lust does not an emotion make), they’re suddenly in love.
Unbelievable, puerile, slow, plot-less and pointless.
