Book reviews à la bookworm...The good, the bad, and everything in between.
The last few books by this author (in her historical and "futuristic" incarnation) are starting to feel really formulaic. While the first books in this series featured exciting heroines and heroes, hot romance, gripping plots, intense suspense, intriguing mystery, and vivid imagery and depictions, the last few ventures into the world of Harmony feel template-y with rehashed characters, plots, "issues" with paranormal talents, lukewarm (at best) romance, and this latest, a Las Vegas-style town in the middle of the desert.
Slow, predictable plot, and rather boring (and at times too fast) romance with a cardboard copy heroine, and a bland hero (who tried his best at humor on sporadic occasion). Not even the dust bunny is worth a mention, since he was pretty much a copy of previous critters.
